Our Nursing Recruitment Specialist and Managing Consultant Dan has been with the company for 12 years. He joined at the young age of 19, showing potential from the outset with his enthusiasm and hunger for success.

Dan has achieved so much over the years, playing a key role in starting up the nursing division and contributing massively to the growth of the business, especially in Northern Ireland, which lead to the opening of the JustNurses branch in Belfast.

We thought we would ask Dan a few questions to help you get to know more about him…

What do you enjoy most about working for JustNurses? My team are great to work with, we are a close-knit team, we all work well together and have great banter on the desk and like to play a few pranks on each other.

What is your career motivation? I’m very self-motivated, I am always striving to progress and be as successful as I possibly can be.

What would you say is your strong point? Building relationships with both my candidates and clients, I have built strong relationships over the years, which is what I believe has lead to the success of JustNurses.

What is your most memorable moment within your role? Helping one of my nurses relocate to Northern Ireland, I built a great relationship with her and now she works with us as our nurse manager.

What has been your most challenging experience in your role? Starting the nursing division from scratch, working long hours to build the candidate and client database to get it off the ground and continue the growth year on year.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I am sports mad, any kind of competitive sports I follow and sometimes like to have the occasional flutter. I’m in my element now the World Cup is on and… FOOTBALL’S COMING HOME! (fingers crossed)

Candidate feedback…

“Joining JustNurses and working with Dan Cosgrove is by far the best decision I have made in my nursing career and I have been qualified for 10.5 years now. Dan is brilliant he is always helpful & supportive and nothing is any trouble. If anyone asks me which nursing agency to join, that's easy, join JustNurses. An agency that go above and beyond and an agency that actually care about their nurses.”

Reemiah is the newest member of the JustNurses team but has made a huge impact with his great work ethic and enthusiasm towards his role. Reemiah hit the ground running when he started his position 4 months ago, with only one year’s recruitment experience he has brought lots of fresh new ideas to the team and has been very proactive in building client relationships.

We thought we would ask Reemiah a few questions to help you get to know a little more about him…

What do you enjoy most about working for JustNurses? The people and the environment, it is a very buzzy sales floor and everyone bounces off each other and motivates each other.

What is your career motivation? As I am new to the company my aim is to establish myself and progress as much as I can within my role.

What would you say is your strong point? I think I’m quite personable and find it easy to talk to different people of all levels so I enjoy liaising with clients and candidates and building relationships.

What is your most memorable moment within your role? My first client visit to Wales, I got to know my clients I have been speaking to on the phone on a more personal level which has only strengthened the relationship with the company and we are now one of their top agencies to work with.

What has been your most challenging experience in your role? I recruit solely for Wales so I found it challenging at first to build my candidate database from scratch and find Nurses within the area or willing to travel to Wales.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I’m very into my fitness, I go to the gym, do boxing and play football, I work hard each week but at the end of the week I like to relax and socialise with friends.

Candidate feedback…

“I have recently joined JustNurses after being contacted by a consultant called Reemiah. He has been in daily contact over the past 4 weeks, and no hurdle was too difficult to overcome when joining their service. He really helped me with the compliance side of things and within less than 3 weeks I was good to go! I would definitely recommend JustNurses to any prospective nurses looking for agency work.”
Sharon D – Agency Nurse

Meet the JustNurses team at RCN Congress 2018

Tuesday 17th April 2018

Will you be at RCN Congress 2018? Make sure to say hello to the JustNurses team over at stand G3.

Will you be attending the RCN Congress 2018 hosted by the Royal College of Nursing in Belfast next month?

If so, we'll see you there, as the JustNurses team will be exhibiting at stand G3 throughout the event, which is set to be held at Belfast Waterfront from Saturday May 12th until Wednesday May 16th.

It's been an exciting time here at JustNurses over the last few months with the launch of our new website, and we're looking forward to catching up with contacts old and new at the RCN Congress 2018.

There's a jam-packed schedule for the event, which features everything from early-morning yoga sessions to improve your flexibility and alignment to talks on topics as wide-ranging as nursing and political influencing, keeping up with evidence in nursing and NHS pay - and that's just on the Sunday in the venue's Main Hall.

Discussions will also take place over the course of the event on sexual assault referral, person-centred self-care, caring for critically ill patients, and how women workers can manage the menopause.

It's certainly going to be a varied event, with other particular highlights set to include the Mary Seacole Lecture entitled 'leveraging leadership in the fight for inclusion' and an audience with the chief nursing officer for Wales, Professor Jean White CBE, who will be leading an interactive session addressing issues affecting nurses working in Wales.

Stuart Mackenzie, chair of congress at the RCN, said: "The agenda for RCN Congress is thought-provoking, contemporary and has a range of issues that I feel really define the purpose of the college.

"I hope it will stir members' political and professional senses."

There's still time to book your place at the RCN Congress via the Royal College of Nursing's website; we look forward to seeing you there next month - remember to stop by stand G3 to say hello!
